Anthony Maxwell-Jones

CEO | Founder

Prior to founding Valorem in 2017, Anthony spent 7 years with private equity fund Castleforge Partners from 2011 investing ~£100M in London City office refurbishments (2011-2014), ~£120M in regional city brownfield land (2013-2016) gaining consent for over 3,500 units. In 2015 Castleforge Partners successfully raised an opportunistic discretionary fund with £235M of equity of which Anthony invested circa £150M into UK regional office refurbishments prior to leaving the business in 2017.

Since 2017 Valorem has invested circa £80M of equity across seven assets including strategic land, office, student, residential and hotel development, realising a blended net return on equity of a 20% IRR and 2.2x Multiple.

Anthony graduated from Reading University with an honours degree in Real Estate Investment & Finance.

Business Focus: Deal sourcing, fund raising and day to management of the wider business.

Martin Claisse

Head of Development & Asset Management

Martin has extensive property experience with a focus on investment, development and asset enhancement through active management across all real estate sectors. Martin has held senior leadership and directorial positions in the property investment and development industry over the last 25 years, including roles in Sun Life of Canada, Credit Suisse, Tiger Development and Castleforge Partners.

A Senior Fund Manager, Martin has been responsible for over £1.1bn strategic asset allocation, acquisition, disposal and all aspects of asset management. Martin has overseen the redevelopment and refurbishment of over 2M sqft of commercial and residential property throughout the UK.

A qualified Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) with an honours degree from London Southbank University.

Business Focus: Delivery of development projects and asset management initiatives.

Executive Assistant

Chloe has over 7 years’ experience as an Executive Assistant with an events management background. She joined Valorem Investment Partners in 2018 as the founder and CEO’s Executive Assistant and Office Manager.

Chloe has an honours degree in Events Management.

Business Focus: Office management and EA to CEO.

Richard How

Head of Origination

Rich started his career at Allsop LLP where he spent 7 years in the residential living markets team specialising in land and development. He then worked for 2 years at Jacuna, acquiring industrial assets across the UK and managing their portfolio.

Rich is a Qualified Chartered Surveyor, with an honours degree in Real Estate.

Business Focus: Deal origination and structuring across all asset sectors, along with market analysis.

Adam Robinson

Investment Associate

Adam joined Valorem Investment Partners in 2023 having previously worked as the Analyst for an £8.4bn, 150-acre London development project, focused on master planning, JVs, asset management, and sustainability investment projects. He also sits on the Oxford Real Estate Society’s committee and is the current Chair.

Adam graduated with an MA in Engineering Science from Jesus College, University of Oxford.

Business Focus: Acquisitions underwriting, transactions modelling, asset management and portfolio reporting.

Financial Controller

Linda has over 35 years of experience working as a Finance professional in various industries including FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods), Fashion Retail and the past 7 years in Property.

She is Certified Accountant with an honours degree from London Southbank University.

Business Focus: Company accounting, project budgeting and financial management.

2 years of experience in Music Publishing across Sync and A&R at Downtown Music Publishing and was Maître’D at the fashionable Casa Cruz in London.

Joined Valorem in 2023 for an internship programme.

Admin support to Rich and Adam.
